Apps are source systems

An app is not a function, it is a system. There is no app for "projects", there is an app for Productive.

You connect the app once for the whole workspace and switch it on for the portals where it belongs. Widgets follow the app: a widget shows data, it does not own the process, and templates and stages are defined in the system.

Two ways an app finds a user's data

Per organisation

The organisation is linked to a record in the system, for example a Productive company. Everyone in the organisation sees that record's data.

Per person

The system finds the data itself from the user's email, for example agreements the person is a party to. There is no link to set.

If an app can do both, the choice is a decision with a consequence rather than a setting: change the axis and what your users see changes with it. If it can only do one of them, the setup says why.

Filters

On top of the axis you can write a filter as a sentence: show only projects where the status is active. The setup shows a live example of what a particular user would then see, before you save.
