What we use them for
One remembers the language you chose, so the site does not go back to English every time you arrive. The other remembers your answer to the cookie question, so you are not asked again on every page.
We also measure how the site is used, so we can tell which pages are worth writing more of. That measurement does not set a cookie and does not identify you, and it only runs if you say yes below.
Changing your mind
You can change or withdraw your answer at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing it stops the measurement on your next page load.
What we deliberately avoid
- No advertising or remarketing cookies, and no ad network of any kind.
- The fonts are downloaded when the site is built and served from our own domain, so your browser never contacts Google to read this page.
- The access request form sends one email to us. It is not stored in a database and it is not used for anything else.
The cookies themselves
Necessary
Required for the site to remember two choices you made yourself. These cannot be switched off.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
kilango-lang | kilango.com | Remembers the language you picked. Only set when you actually pick one. | 1 year |
kilango-consent | kilango.com | Stores your answer to the cookie question for this domain. | 6 months |
Statistics
Tells us which pages are read and which are not, in aggregate. Vercel Web Analytics sets no cookies and does not identify individual visitors, but it only runs with your consent.
Your choice
Necessary cookies remember two choices you made yourself and cannot be switched off. Statistics is entirely up to you and changes nothing about what the site does. You can change your answer here at any time.
